Tom Owen appointed by Cathay Pacific as director of cargo

Hong Kong-based carrier Cathay Pacific has made changes to its cargo management team. The carrier has appointed Tom Owen into the role of director of cargo.
Owen has served on the Cathay Pacific leadership team as director of people for the past five years. He has previously held a variety of senior posts at the airline, as well as at other Swire Group companies.

In addition, Nelson Chin assumed the role of regional general manager North East Asia, based in Tokyo.

Ronald Lam, chief customer and commercial officer, at Cathay Pacific, commented: “I would like to thank Chin for his hard work and dedication as general manager of cargo commercial and recognise his great contributions to our cargo business over the past three years, both in the best and most challenging of times.

I am happy that Chin retains involvement with the cargo business and wish him every success in his new role.

George Edmunds will take up the role of general manager commercial, joining from the commercial team where he is currently head of revenue management operations for our passenger business. Both Owen and Edmunds join the team in September.
