Port of Shanghai

June container throughput at the port of Shanghai climbed 4.2% from the same month last year to 3.756 million TEUs compared to 3.603 million TEUs in the same month last year. In the first six months of the year, volumes rose 5.0% from the same period in 2018 to 21.536 million TEUs.

Port of Singapore

Container traffic at the port of Singapore shrank 2.0% in June to 2.997 million TEUs, down for the first time in four months. From January to July this year, Singapore port throughput came up to a total of 18.034 million TEUs, slightly up by 0.1% from a year before.

Port of Hong Kong

Container volumes handled at Hong Kong Port fell 11.3% to 1.163 million TEUs in June, representing a decline for 17 consecutive months. Kwai Tsing terminals handled 1.163 million TEUs, down 12.7% from a year earlier while throughput at non-Kwai Tsing terminals including mid-stream fell 6.1% on year to 330,000 TEUs. Consolidated figures at Hong Kong Port for the first six months of 2019 revealed an 8.1% drop in throughput to 9.064 million TEUs. Boxes handled at Kwai Tsing terminals fell 8.7% to 7.081 million TEUs while out of Kwai Tsing terminals processed 1.983 million TEUs, down 6.1% year on year.
