Metrans operating new train on Silk Road

Metrans, part of HHLA, will launch a new intermodal service along a section of the new Silk Road, running from Malaszewice (Poland) to Ceska Trebova (Czechia), from 10 March 2019, with two roundtrips a week.

This regular connection will offer significant time and cost savings in comparison to other services and a CO2 efficient solution for truck transports from Malaszewice. It will also provide a unique direct connection within Central and Eastern Europe, according to Hamburg-based Metrans.

Via Ceska Trebova, the intermodal service will be linked up to all terminals within the Metrans network including the connections with Hamburg, Bremerhaven, Duisburg (Germany), Koper (Slovenia), etc. (ben)
