OOCL reports volume growth with 23.8%

The Board of Directors of Orient Overseas (International) Limited announced the unaudited operational updates for Orient Overseas Container Line (“OOCL”) on Friday (April 23).

This announcement sets out the unaudited operational update for OOCL for the first quarter ended 31st March 2021. The comparative figures for the first quarter ended 31st March 2020 are also disclosed in this announcement.

For the first quarter ended 31st March 2021, total volumes were 23.8% up from the same period last year. Total revenues increased by 96.0% to US Dollars 3,018.4 million.

Loadable capacity increased by 15.0%. The overall load factor was 6.2% higher than the same period in 2020. Overall average revenue per TEU increased by 58.3% compared to the first quarter of last year, the company stated.
