Yang Ming’s new president joined the company in 1992
At its 352nd board meeting, Yang Ming Marine Transport Corporation confirmed the appointment of Patrick Tu as the company’s new president and COO. He will therefore leave his roles as chief strategy officer and executive vice president, to which he was promoted earlier this year.
Joining Yang Ming in 1992, Tu has held various positions with successive responsibility within the company. He brings experience in commercial and strategy development, with a profound knowledge of business development and liner planning.
Prior to this appointment, Tu was managing director of Yang Ming Line (Hong-Kong) and stationed in Shanghai and Ningbo (China).
While the upward trend appears to continue in the global shipping industry for the second half of 2020, it is expected that, with their complementary strengths in finance and shipping, chairman Cheng, who was elected last month, and president Tu will help Yang Ming build a stronger workforce and achieve higher business growth in the future.
